Competency 2:
Engage Diversity and Difference in Practice
The student intern actively engaged in diverse practice sets while at their field placement setting.

While interning at the agency, the student assisted with a variety of projects the organization is involved with. The student helped research information for their non-profit organization. That was then backlogged into the agency's internal system mapping tool and used throughout the project.

When interacting in diverse and different practice sets (Competency 2, Council on Social Work Education, 2015), the student must also acknowledge their use of professional boundaries. Understanding that the student has a certain scope of practice and that this is a new way for the student to engage in different types of areas, also means the student must take the same empathetic tone with themselves while engaging as a learner
