Competency 4:

Engage In Practice-informed Research and Research-informed Practice

During their time at the field agency, the student was able to participate in a variety of research opportunities. While engaging in this type of research the student intern had to conduct themselves according to IRB guidelines as well as NASW ethical standards and principles, which demonstrates their ability and acknowledgment of the CSWE Core Competencies.

It led the student to access multiple resources and databases to search for several opportunities that closely fit their client systems. Doing so enables the expansion of the student's knowledge and skillset in Competency 4: Engage in Practice-informed Research, and Research-informed Practice, (Council on Social Work Education, 2015).
